CENTENARY OF THE FIRST WORLD WAR

Candles were lit in Canterbury Cathedral on 6th October 2018 by Mrs Gill Moore, granddaughter of William Crawford, first Battery Sergeant Major of the Hampstead Heavies

In Mrs Moore's words:

I lit a candle in the Cathedral on Saturday for Major Paris and a second one for the others in the Heavies who died. I copied the information from the website then sat in one of the chapels (St Anselm's had good light) and made a crochet poppy. I photographed both in the chapel then put both in a clear folder and left them by the Warriors Chapel. There was a special service for peace held at the Cathedral that evening that I felt was very appropriate
